Yoga

योगश्चित्तवृत्तिनिरोध

yogaś-citta-vr̥tti-nirodhaḥ

In a sea of definitions of the word yoga, I have always been drawn to the one offered by ancient Indian sage Patanjali: The absence (nirodhaḥ) of movement (vrtti) in the mental field (citta). The cessation of the fluctuations of consciousness — a true calming of the mind.

In addition to my regular practice, I have had the privilege of studying yoga practice and philosophy on several continents, including the venerable Parmarth Niketan in Rishikesh, India, and studios throughout Asia, Europe and South America. I completed my 200-Hour RYS Certification at 8 Limbs Yoga Centers in Seattle, WA, in 2020.

Yoga started as an exercise routine, progressed into a hobby, and eventually blossomed into a lifestyle. The physical poses themselves, or “asanas,” are only the tip of the iceberg.

Integrating yogic philosophy

changed my entire approach to the legal practice.

My yoga practice influences every aspect of my life, personal and professional. Every offering of Miller LTY is provided with mindfulness and compassion.

I am a lifelong student and supporter of Hridaya Yoga, a wonderful yoga center along the Oaxacan Coast of Mexico, in the town of Mazunte. I encourage you to explore all of their offerings.
